I am hearing a great deal of buzz about Kmart doubles. Some of you have gotten emails from Kmart this week letting you know that in order to participate in the Double Coupon Event from 4/4 -4/10, you must use your Kmart Shop Your Way Rewards Card.
The limit for Kmart doubles is five coupons per day. Apparently, they will track coupon use through the Shop Your Way Rewards card.
I hope this is not true, for it won't be worth my time to shop with five coupons per day. I did apply for a card online, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the limit will be higher than five! How about you? Will you shop to double five coupons?

Heck no! I loved the doubles last year. It's not worth it to walk in to do 5 doubles and leave for the day. I got an email from kmart and they actually wrote something about that:
Below are the details of the promotion:
-Manufacturer Coupons up to and including $2 Value Doubled up to $2 no matter what the retail price of a single item is.
- In-store Activation MUST BE tied to SYWR (Shop Your Way Rewards)
card-offer is only good when the SYWR card is swiped FIRST.
-Does not include Kmart Store Coupons
-Does not include Kmart Pharmacy Store Coupons
-Limit 5 total coupons per customer per day.
-First 5 coupons provided by customer will be doubled.
Our Kmart is so awful, they would have to literally pay me just to step foot in the store.
Our Kmart is also awful. Regardless of the promotion, I always have to explain/clarify/call for a manager who then has to call for someone else.
I don't think I will raise my blood pressure over this 5 coupon limit.
Thanks for the heads up about needing a card. I never shop at Kmart but may give it a try!
Fortunately, I have two Kmart stores that aren't out of the way for me. I should be able stop by a couple of times that week, but only if I have coupons that make it worthwhile.
I will no longer do the doubles if they limit it. I have to drive 40 minutes to get to Kmart...not worth my time. I don't think they realize how much that will destroy their widely followed program.
K Mart has always caused me frustration that is why it's not my normal go to store. However the details about the use of 5 coupons daily use has been well announced, so I can not complain. Do I think 5coupons is enough for a daily use, HECK NO but again they stated their policy and details of the sale so I will accept it.
I will go yes and get 5 packages of Huggies Pull Ups and I have 5 coupons for $2 off each package so I will save $20 that sounds good to me!!! I will be in and out of the store quicky. That's it no big deal but a good savings none the less...
Hopefully between Rite Aid and
K -Mart my Pull Ups purchases will be complete and my little boy will be potty trained!
Stacy
A 5 coupon limit is pretty ridiculous. Maybe we should all write an e-mail to K-mart and tell them that.
I agree with Stacy, the details of the 5 coupons have been well announced - now and in the past. However, most stores (mine included) have disregarded the 5 coupons per day per person because (as my store has vocalized)...any additional business is good business. If they are selling stuff off of the shelves they don't care how many coupons I double. However now, it seems as though they have a way of permitting stores like mine from doing that. Until the Kmart doubling deals, my Kmart was going to close, now it's staying open and they are looking at remodeling it because of the additional shopping/spending from the double days. I suppose now there will be talks of closing again.
I will definitely still do it - I live less than a mile away from Kmart and will probably hit it at least 5 times - totalling 25 coupons. It's still worth it for me.
I won't go because Kmart is too far away to go for 5 coupons. Unless I am going to the mall nearby for something else that week, I will probably skip this promotion. Like T, I think we should all email or call Kmart and ask them to increase the limit. Maybe if they think they'll lose their client base of coupon shoppers, they'll reconsider.
Although the limit is a bit rediculous, this is the first time my store has been included. My Kmart is around the corner from work, so it will be worth a couple of trips to stock up on shampoo and etc.
I wish it were ten, but I will totally do 5. PLUS I am excited that for once the shelves will not be wiped clean by greedy couponers who HOG items.
See what happens when a few bad apples (those couponers who totally abuse the system) go too far? Problem is, it is really hard to decide where the line is of "too far."
Regarding Margie's statement about the stores ignoring the 5 Q limit. This time the limit will be enforced because you need the card to use the Qs. SO there is no way to get around it, even if the store wanted to.
Julie- I understand that they will be able to stop the stores from doing unlimited doubles due to the card. In my comment, I meant to say "preventing" not "permitting." Your comment made me reread mine and I see how what I wrote made the wording incorrect. Thanks for pointing this out!
On another note, I feel that by doing it this way they are going to lose some business that they had from past double weeks. We'll see if they notice a difference in bottom line.
I'll probably stop in when I'm close by. I don't know if I would bother, except that I have a card, my mother has a card & my husband has a card so I should be able to use each card each day.
Yes I will and I will use 5 different cards to use 25 coupons per day!
Absolutly NOT!!! The Kmarts around here for an hour and a half one way for me to get too. It deff. woulnt even be worth it for me. We went alot last year but there wasnt a limit of 5 !!! UGGH!!! =[
Many stores limit coupon sales b/c there are so many people who clean the shelves out of greed, use 2 or more store cards, and use expired or fraudulent coupons!
I'm confused. Will they double a manufacturer coupon for up to $2 off, making in $4 off? Or will they only double a manufacturer coupon for up to $1 off, making it $2 off?
