What’s for Dinner? BBQ Chicken!

BBQ Chicken

Fresh Zucchini
Potatoes Au Gratin

Planning meals ahead even by several hours is really important to saving money in your grocery budget.  I plan the full week ahead, based on items I already have in my freezer or storage.

My goal price for meals is $5 total.  This has been easy with the free vegetables I’ve been getting from the family (my dad’s) garden.  We have been eating fresh beans, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs.

What’s on your menu?

  1. We are having tacos tonight. It’s my teen’s favorite dinner.

  2. I’m on my own tonight so I’m going to enjoy a tomato, cucumber and basil sandwich.

    • Yum! I went out and bought more basil seeds today. Pack says they will be up in 8-10 Days. I am hoping there is still plenty of time to get some good harvest!

      • I bet you’ll get some good plants from that. I get my plants at Trader Joe’s. They’re organic and only $2.99. It actually costs less to buy a plant than it does to just buy the cut basil in the produce isle. I can’t grow them from seed here because of the darned squirrells. At the moment my two baldie plants are starting to grow back with the heat we’ve been getting.
