10 More Things We Can’t Live Without from Aldi

We Love Aldi

Two years ago we wrote “10 Things I Can’t Live Without from Aldi”.  Today, many of the things on that list are still very true, but we’d like to tell you more.

I have been an Aldi shopper for many years and have really saved a truckload of money.   I see the savings more and more as I have gotten away from shopping in other stores like Walmart, then happen to go back and realize the major price differences. I want others to be able to save just as much as I have.

About Aldi

Aldi is owned by the German company, Albrecht Discounts, who also owns Trader Joe’s.  Both stores have their own labeled brands, but don’t be fooled.  Aldi branded items don’t lack quality. I’ve read and seen first hand how many people prefer the quality of Aldi products.

Aldi employs several strategies to keep their prices low. First, they have a much smaller inventory than most stores, which helps keep the costs down. The store is carefully designed to employ less workers.  Items arrive in display boxes to help reduce the time it takes to restock. Multiple bar codes on packaging  makes the checkout run faster, also reducing employees and costs.

By making the consumer responsible for bagging and returning the cart, Aldi cuts down on even more costs they can return to the consumer in the form of low prices.

10 More Aldi Items We Can’t Live Without

1. Produce
Produce was on our first list and remains there for good reasons.  Aldi’s produce prices are extremely LOW.  Recently, Aldi has stepped up their game to include more produce at ultra low prices.  Aldi now has organic produce at prices that beat most other stores.

2.  Butter and Cheese
What more can we say.  It’s cheaper and tastes the same as name brands!

3.  Bread
This is one of my favorite “deals” at Aldi. Select from white, wheat, or Italian bread and save over $1.00 a loaf.  Cha-ching!

Aldi Simply Nature

4. Large Line of Gluten-Free Products
Aldi has a gluten-free line and many items in their Simply Nature line that are naturally gluten-free.  Oh, and did I mention the prices are like HALF of what you’d pay elsewhere?

5.  Baking Essentials and Cooking Spray
Flour, sugar, vegetable oil, olive oil, and cooking spray are oh-so-cheap.

fit and active

6.  Fit and Active Products for Healthy Living
Watch your weight while guarding your wallet.  That’s a double success, plus these items are very tasty.

7.  Canned Vegetables and Fruits
Aldi canned goods are priced low.  I stock my “cantry” (can pantry) by purchasing full cases of canned items.  We use it all winter when most produce is not in season.

Beans

8.  Frozen Vegetables
Aldi has a very limited selection of vegetables in their freezer section but they are all absolutely fantastic, high quality products.  The price is 50% lower than name brands at other stores.

9.  Spices and Seasonings
Spices and seasonings at Aldi are 50% to 75% cheaper than in other stores.  We really enjoy those savings!

Aldi Meats

10.  Marked Down Meats
Aldi, like other stores, marks down their meats when it is nearing the “sell by” date.  I’ve been able to find some really awesome deals this way. When I see these deals, I normally purchase several packages to freeze.  This drastically reduces the price I pay for meat.  You will find ham discounted after the holidays and their meat specials on sale the day after the weekly specials are over.

Now it’s your turn.  What do you love at Aldi?
